Course Objectives
- The objective of this workshop is to prepare participants for the application and professional interview (PI) in the field of construction project management.
- Participants will gain an understanding of the holistic development required from the inception of tertiary education, the importance of CPD training programs and practical training during the candidacy period, and how to compile logbooks, the CV, the project profile, the reports, and supporting documentation.
- Additionally, participants will learn strategies for preparing for the PI, including public speaking skills, critical thinking skills, and professionalism.
- The workshop will include a review of the documents as prepared by the attendees and a mock PI session to practice these skills and provide feedback to improve performance. To help participants identify gaps in their knowledge and experience and develop strategies to address them.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Understand the importance of holistic development from the inception of tertiary education
- Identify the key components of tertiary education, CPD training programs, and practical training during the candidacy period
- Compile logbooks and supporting documentation to support their
professional development - Understand the feedback received from the SACPCMP based on
interim logbook submissions and how to address it - Prepare for the professional interview, including public speaking skills, critical thinking skills, and professionalism
- Practice these skills in a mock PI session and receive feedback to
improve performance - Identify gaps in knowledge, skills, and experience and develop strategies to address them through ongoing learning and professional development.
